The aim of these $2$-$3$ talks would be to prove the $9g-9$ theorem for Tëichmuller space of a closed surface. The important lemma in the process of proving the theorem is the fact that length functions on a Tëichmuller space are convex. We will also introduce Earthquake maps and Fenchel-Nielsen coordinates in the process.
